Anne-Marie Turner

Writer & editor

Hello. My name is Anne-Marie.

I am a published literary non-fiction and contemporary fiction writer living in Melbourne/Naarm. I am studying in my final year in the Associate Degree of Professional Writing and Editing at RMIT.

In 2024, I was thrilled to be short-listed for open memoir in the Nillumbik Contemporary Writing Prize for my essay ‘Love is the lighthouse.’ This was particularly poignant, as I wrote this piece in tribute to my brother, John, who died 30 years before.

I have built a decades-long career working as a paediatrician with young people experiencing developmental, behavioural and mental health challenges.

My stories are interwoven with my first love, a passion for the natural environment. I write stories about family, relationships, adversity and memory.

Where will you find me? Get in touch via the links attached – Instagram, LinkedIn or Substack – or drop me an email.

I might be walking or cycling a trail, or with my nose in a book, but I’d love to hear from you.
